Shankha Yoga
This guide covers two lordship-based Shankha Yoga formulations, each with specific strength conditions. Their traditional themes include learning, prosperity and responsibility. They are distinct from the Nabhasa pattern that shares the Shankha name.

How Shankha Yoga forms
In the first version, the fifth and sixth lords occupy mutual kendras, while the ascendant lord is strong. Mutual kendras means that their positions are first, fourth, seventh or tenth from each other.
In the second version, the ascendant lord and tenth lord each occupy a movable sign, and the ninth lord is strong. These are alternative formulations; neither can be established from house placement alone without its strength condition.
With Gemini rising, Venus rules the fifth and Mars rules the sixth. Venus in Libra and Mars in Capricorn are in mutual kendras. Mercury, the ascendant lord, is assigned 450 Virupas, meeting its 420-Virupa threshold.

Learning and a considerate disposition
The traditional description brings together learning, familiarity with sacred texts and kindness. These qualities form one part of the source's favourable portrait.
They remain interpretive themes, not a test of someone's character. The relevant chart question is whether the stated lordship, placement and strength conditions are present.

Prosperity and responsibility
Land, prosperity and authority also appear in the account. The historical language includes the power to discipline, reflecting the responsibilities associated with rank.
This does not promise office, property or a particular family life. The source's specific lifespan claim is not used as a prediction.
Traditional interpretations are not guaranteed outcomes; consider the whole birth chart.
