Hamsa Yoga
Hamsa is the Jupiter-based Pancha Mahapurusha yoga: Jupiter in an angular house and its own or exaltation sign. Traditionally associated with knowledge and generosity, it must be distinguished from other formations sharing the name.

How Hamsa Yoga forms
Jupiter must be in the 1st, 4th, 7th or 10th house from the ascendant. The qualifying signs are Sagittarius and Pisces, which Jupiter rules, and Cancer, where it is exalted.
This Mahapurusha family has three catalogue formulations: the basic rule and two versions that qualify its results through the Sun and Moon. The separate Hamsa pattern placing all planets in houses 1, 5, 7 and 9 is not this Jupiter yoga.
Sagittarius rises in the example and Jupiter occupies Sagittarius. Jupiter is in its own sign in the first house. The North and South Indian charts present the same placement in their respective formats.

Study and the sharing of knowledge
The source emphasises a thirst for knowledge and familiarity with sacred learning. It describes knowledge alongside virtuous action and doing good for others.
These are the central themes used here. They do not establish a person's religious commitments, moral worth or suitability to teach.

Comfort and generosity
The traditional portrait also includes material comforts and enjoyment of life. Read together with its emphasis on learning, the account describes resources accompanied by an interest in knowledge and beneficial conduct.
The two modifying formulations are reminders that Jupiter's angular placement is a starting point for interpretation, not a complete assessment.
Traditional interpretations are not guaranteed outcomes; consider the whole birth chart.
