The birthplace sets the time zone, daylight saving included
Enter your name, gender, birthplace, date and time, including seconds when known. Place suggestions supply coordinates; the IANA database resolves historical time zones and daylight saving.
For a repeated clock time, choose Earlier or Later. Skipped times are reported, never shifted. Advanced options accept a named zone or a fixed UTC offset to the second. Your calculation defaults apply, including Lahiri ayanāṁśa unless changed.
In D1, Libra holds the Ascendant with Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Rāhu, the Moon is in Capricorn and the Sun in Virgo. In D9 the Moon moves to Leo and Jupiter and Venus to Taurus; in D10 the Sun and Mercury share Capricorn.

The chart page starts with D1, D9 and D10 tiles
A new layout starts with Rāśi (D1), Navāṁśa (D9) and Daśāṁśa (D10). Add up to eight chart tiles, each with its own division, reference, house view and drawing style.
A tile's menu offers North Indian, South Indian, East Indian and Western styles. Count houses from the Lagna or any graha; choose Rāśi, two equal-house views, Śrīpati or Placidus. Save layout applies the arrangement to subsequent charts.

The Planets tab lists every position to the minute
The Planets tab lists the Ascendant, nine grahas and Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. Rows show sign, degree, nakṣatra and pada; D1 adds a Kāraka column. Sun-to-Saturn rows include dignity and strength: Ṣaḍbala divided by the required minimum.
Motion badges identify retrograde and stationary planets. Switch divisions or add special points, avasthās and D1 Western points. Nila Raman’s chart shows the Moon at 24°15′ Capricorn, Dhaniṣṭhā pada 1, with strength 1.29.

Fourteen tabs read the same chart in different methods
Fourteen tabs share one saved chart: Planets, Bhāva, Navatara, BNN, KP, Tajik, Transits, Sarvatobhadra, Aspects, Ṣaḍbala, Jaimini, Aṣṭakavarga, Yogas and Sudarshana. Compare methods without re-entering birth details.
The identity card provides Edit, Copy and Share; the Daśā card shows current Vimśottarī periods. The chart footer identifies the ayanāṁśa and opens its Description and Birth Panchang. Sudarshana is available on charts you own, not shared charts.
At 0°45′38″ Libra, the Ascendant lies in the first D9 and D10 parts, both Libra, more than two degrees from their ends. Its D60 part, Scorpio, ends 14′22″ later and its D150 part, Cancer, only 2′22″ later.
Divisional charts go from 24 presets up to D300
Vargas divide each sign into smaller parts: D9 uses nine portions of 3°20′. Choose 24 presets, D1–D12, D16, D20, D24, D27, D30, D40, D45, D60, D81, D108, D144 and D150, or custom factors through D300. Non-preset factors map cyclically from Aries.
Parāśara describes sixteen divisions. Higher factors require precise birth times: the Ascendant moves about one degree every four minutes on average, crossing a D60 portion in roughly two minutes and a D150 portion in under one. Treat fine divisions as provisional when the time is uncertain.
Questions about making a Vedic birth chart
What details do I need to make a kundli?
The name, gender, birthplace, date and time of birth. The time matters most: enter it to the minute, or to the second if the record gives it. Enter the clock time written on the birth record; Mạghā looks up the time zone and any daylight saving for that place and date itself, so there is nothing to convert.
Why is my kundli different in different apps?
Usually because the settings differ. Compare the ayanāṁśa first: Mạghā uses Lahiri unless you choose another of its 21 options. Then compare the time zone and daylight saving applied to the birth time, and the house method. Divisional charts add one more choice, because several divisions have more than one traditional rule. Once those agree, a remaining difference usually traces back to the birth details entered.
Can I make a birth chart without an exact birth time?
Mạghā needs a time to calculate, so enter your best estimate. The planets change sign slowly and the Moon changes nakṣatra about once a day, but the Ascendant moves about one degree every four minutes. An estimated time therefore leaves the Ascendant, the houses and the finer divisional charts uncertain. If you learn the exact time later, Edit on the chart page updates the birth details.
Is the Vedic birth chart free in Mạghā?
Yes. Every astrology feature in Mạghā is free for life: birth charts, the 24 divisional presets and custom divisions, the planetary ledger and all fourteen tabs. You need an account to save charts. AI reports and horoscope matching are one-time purchases, and the sample reports are free.
