Bhṛgu Nandī Nāḍī
Bhṛgu Nandī Nāḍī reads relationships between planets rather than treating the Ascendant as primary. Mạghā's BNN tab draws the nine planets on a directional cross and shows progressed Jupiter, Saturn and lunar nodes for ages 0–119.
The fire, earth, air and water signs face east, south, west and north. Mars stands alone in the north, Ketu in the east, the Moon and Sun in the south, and Mercury, Saturn, Rāhu, Jupiter and Venus in the west, ordered by degree from 11.22° to 24.21°.

Each arm of the cross holds the three signs of one element
The directional cross groups trine signs: fire faces east, earth south, air west and water north. Later BNN teachers read planets sharing a direction as linked. Mạghā sorts each arm by degree within the sign and highlights the selected planet's string. Nila's west arm holds Mercury, Saturn, Rāhu, Jupiter and Venus; Mars stands north, Ketu east, and Moon with Sun south.

In R. G. Rao's teaching, Jupiter stands for the native
Rao gives each matter a significator: Jupiter for the native and for children, Mercury for education, Saturn for work and Venus for marriage. In a woman's chart his examples read Mars as the husband. To judge a matter he looks at its planet, the lord of the sign it occupies, the other planets in that sign, those in the signs on either side and in the seventh, and any exchange of signs.
Timing comes from movement. In Rao's examples Jupiter moves about a sign a year, completing a round of the zodiac in 12 years, and gives the results of each sign and natal planet it reaches; in his first example, marriage is expected when Jupiter reaches Venus, around the 30th year. Saturn, the lord of work in his account, marks changes in work by its transit.

Mạghā steps the progression through any age from 0 to 119
Choose a completed age from 0 to 119 to see progressed Jupiter, Saturn, Rāhu and Ketu at that year's end, with paths and sign-change dates. Mạghā advances Jupiter 2.5° yearly and Saturn 1°, moves Rāhu backward 1°40′, and keeps Ketu opposite, starting from natal degrees in your ayanāṁśa.
These are later Nāḍī writers' slower rates. Rao's examples move Jupiter roughly a sign yearly, so their ages will not match this progression.
Nila's progressed Rāhu enters Leo on 30 January 2026
At age 31, the year from her birthday on 14 October 2025 to 14 October 2026, Nila's progressed Jupiter has travelled 77.5° from its birth place at 23.91° Libra and moves from 11.41° to 13.91° Capricorn. It reaches Aquarius only in March 2033. Saturn, a degree a year from 12.48° Aquarius, moves from 13.48° to 14.48° Pisces.
Rāhu, moving backwards from 22.16° Libra, begins the year at 0.49° Virgo, crosses into Leo on 30 January 2026 and ends at 28.83° Leo. Ketu crosses from Pisces into Aquarius on the same day. Capricorn sits on the cross's south arm and Pisces on the north, so in trine terms progressed Jupiter joins the natal Moon and Sun, and progressed Saturn joins Mars.
What people ask about Bhṛgu Nandī Nāḍī
Does Bhṛgu Nandī Nāḍī use the ascendant?
R. G. Rao writes that the Nāḍī texts do not treat the ascendant as primary; he values it mainly for fixing exactly where each planet stood on the birth day. Planets are read from one another instead. In Mạghā the directional cross ignores the ascendant, while the progression chart is drawn on your birth chart, so your ascendant places the progressed planets in houses.
How does Jupiter progression work in BNN?
Two speeds are taught. In Rao's examples Jupiter moves about one sign a year and completes the zodiac in 12 years, as its real transit does. Later writers also use a slow progression in which Jupiter takes 12 years over each sign, 2.5° a year from its birth degree. Mạghā's BNN tab shows the slow progression; Jupiter's real position is on the Transits tab.
Does BNN need an exact birth time?
Less than methods built on houses. The cross uses only the planets' signs and degrees, and apart from the Moon, which moves about 13° a day, they shift little in a few hours. Time still matters when a planet sits near the edge of a sign: Rao's own example is the Sun passing from Virgo into Libra between two births on the same day.
