What is the D30 chart?
Triṁśāṁśa traditionally concerns difficulties and adverse effects. Despite the name D30, Parāśari calculation uses five unequal portions, differing for odd and even signs. Read the result alongside D1, without treating it as inevitable events.
Five unequal portions.
Five unequal bands: 0 to 5 degrees Mars and Aries; above 5 to 10 Saturn and Aquarius; above 10 to 18 Jupiter and Sagittarius; above 18 to 25 Mercury and Gemini; above 25 to 30 Venus and Libra. 11 degrees lies inside Jupiter’s 8-degree band and maps to Sagittarius. At exact shared endpoints the current app retains the earlier band.
| Ruler | Range | Sign |
|---|---|---|
| Mars | 0°–5° | Aries |
| Saturn | 5°–10° | Aquarius |
| Jupiter | 10°–18° | Sagittarius |
| Mercury | 18°–25° | Gemini |
| Venus | 25°–30° | Libra |
11° Aries → Sagittarius
Five unequal bands: 0 to 5 degrees Venus and Taurus; above 5 to 12 Mercury and Virgo; above 12 to 20 Jupiter and Pisces; above 20 to 25 Saturn and Capricorn; above 25 to 30 Mars and Scorpio. 11 degrees lies inside Mercury’s 7-degree band and maps to Virgo. At exact shared endpoints the current app retains the earlier band.
| Ruler | Range | Sign |
|---|---|---|
| Venus | 0°–5° | Taurus |
| Mercury | 5°–12° | Virgo |
| Jupiter | 12°–20° | Pisces |
| Saturn | 20°–25° | Capricorn |
| Mars | 25°–30° | Scorpio |
11° Taurus → Virgo
At exact shared endpoints, the current app assigns the earlier band.

Calculation examples
How is the D30 chart calculated?
In odd-numbered signs, the five portions have widths of 5°, 5°, 8°, 7° and 5°. They are assigned to Mars, Saturn, Jupiter, Mercury and Venus, represented by Aries, Aquarius, Sagittarius, Gemini and Libra.
In even-numbered signs, the sequence is Venus, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn and Mars, with widths of 5°, 7°, 8°, 5° and 5°. The corresponding signs are Taurus, Virgo, Pisces, Capricorn and Scorpio.
A position at 11° Aries falls in Jupiter’s portion and becomes Sagittarius in D30. At 11° Taurus it falls in Mercury’s portion and becomes Virgo. These examples lie inside their portions; at an exact dividing degree, retain the app’s precise result rather than inferring it from a rounded label.

Reading difficult themes with care
The classical subject is adversity. A reading may explore difficult patterns or the ways a situation places strain on the person concerned.
This language should not become a prediction of illness, a catalogue of impending disasters or a judgment of someone’s character. An isolated D30 placement cannot establish that any particular event will occur.

Reading D30 alongside D1
Begin with D1 and the actual question. Then compare the D30 ascendant, its ruler and planetary relationships, considering both supportive and difficult indications across the charts.
Keep the unequal calculation in mind: this method is not a simple row of thirty one-degree sign assignments. Reliable birth details and the precise planetary degrees matter near the dividing points.
These are traditional interpretations, not diagnoses or guaranteed outcomes. Read the chart as part of a wider assessment of the person’s circumstances.
