What is the D2 chart?

Horā divides each zodiac sign into two halves and is traditionally studied for wealth and resources. D2 rearranges the birth positions. Several Horā methods exist, so identify the calculation before comparing or interpreting charts.

Two halves of 15°.

10° Aries maps to Aries in D2

Aries, 10 degrees. Parivṛtti Even Reverse. Two halves of 15 degrees. Aries keeps the cyclic forward order. The 10-degree point is inside the first half. In order, the 2 portions map to Aries, Taurus. Portion 1 contains the example and maps to Aries.

10° Taurus maps to Cancer in D2

Taurus, 10 degrees. Parivṛtti Even Reverse. Two halves of 15 degrees. Taurus reverses its cyclic pair, so Cancer comes before Gemini. The 10-degree point is inside the first half. In order, the 2 portions map to Cancer, Gemini. Portion 1 contains the example and maps to Cancer.

How is the D2 chart calculated?

Each 30° sign has two parts of 15° each. Mạghā’s shared chart calculation uses a method called Parivṛtti Even Reverse: assignments continue through the zodiac, with the order of the two parts reversed in every even-numbered sign.

For Aries, the first half maps to Aries and the second to Taurus. For Taurus, the first half maps to Cancer and the second to Gemini. Thus 10° Aries stays in Aries in D2, while 10° Taurus maps to Cancer.

The familiar classical Sun–Moon Horā assigns the halves to Leo and Cancer instead. The examples here follow Mạghā’s mapping; results from these two methods should not be treated as interchangeable.

Wealth and material resources

The classical subject of Horā is wealth. In an ordinary reading, that invites attention to resources, possessions and the means through which a household sustains itself.

A D2 placement does not tell you a bank balance or establish whether a financial decision will succeed. Its value within the tradition comes from considering relationships among planets, rather than turning one sign into a promise of prosperity.

Reading D2 alongside D1

Begin with the birth chart and the planets relevant to the question being asked. Then compare their condition and relationships in the chosen Horā method.

Keep the calculation method consistent throughout that comparison. A difference between two D2 charts may come from their mapping rules even when the birth details are identical.

These are traditional interpretations, not financial forecasts. Read Horā alongside D1 and the person’s actual circumstances.
